Our pond, which measures approximately 30’ by 50’, with a depth of 6.5’ is constructed entirely without the use of a liner! We used over 250 tons of concrete and stone to make the foundation and structure of the pond. Our filter and skimmer and system is home brew, as is our pond. The biofilter is actually a 50 gallon plastic bucket/garbage can that affords bottom flow filtration. It contains lava rock, along with various other filter type materials. The skimmer is constructed of cement block and stone. The entire system is powered by an 8000 gph pump.
The pond is home to numerous goldfish, frogs and water lilies, along with assorted other plants.
Surrounding the pond and much of our property are hundreds of varieties of daylilies, hybridized by the previous owner. We expect many of these to be in bloom for the tour!
