Our first pond was built 13 years ago. It was hand dug with a rubber liner and is approx. 1100 gallons. This pond has just a sponge filter and a spitter. It is the home for many frogs and goldfish. The pond is set amongst our perennial beds.
Our second pond was constructed 9 years ago. This pond was also hand dug by my husband and daughters and has a rubber liner. It is 3 ½ feet deep at its deepest and hold approx. 2400 gallons. This pond is home to our koi, all of which have names and distinct personalities. A small waterfall flows into the shallow end, and the pond is situated again among many perennials.
