The NFKPC meets the second Friday of each month at 7PM in the VFW Post in Tonawanda NY. See the Meetings and Events page for instructions on how to get there. You may attend up to three meetings as guests after which time we ask that you join the club. Memberships are $15 per years for individuals, $21 per year for families. Dues are pro-rated from April 1st. Your membership includes a subscription to our monthly newsletter the NFKPC Wetwork News.
Meetings last approximately 2 hours and the typical agenda is:
· An update from the club presidents on the past month's events and upcoming events · A guest speaker · A refreshment break which quite often includes baked goods supplied by one of the members · Social time · An auction where members can sell plants, fish and other related items. The club gets 50% of all proceeds.
The NFKPC sponsors a number of annual events which include:
· A Koi show. A weekend event at one of the local nurseries where members can show their fish and compete for awards. There is a display of products from many different manufacturers. · A Pond Tour. Spend a Saturday visiting 8 or more of our members ponds. The last stop of the day includes a picnic.
The NFKPC maintains an extensive library of Books, Videos and Magazines related to all aspects of Koi keeping and Water gardens. Materials may be checked out and must be returned the following month. There is a small deposit for videos and some of the books.
The club also maintains a photo collection which is available at meetings. This is an excellent way to see what other members' ponds and water gardens look like.
