Those of us who participated really took part in a unique show! The landscape exhibits, those less in number compared to last year, were much more elaborate and involved lots more creativity in their designs. My thanks go out to the many, many club members that helped out in setup, takedown, and actual staffing of the exhibit. As most of you know by now, our theme was a "novel idea", and the pond was converted into a giant (4 by 8 foot) picture frame, with living Koi as the content of the "picture".Our display was once again a joint effort working with the Daylily, Hosta and Iris clubs. The time spent in planning our display paid off with a striking display, which won "honorable mention". That was quite an honor, as our display was not judged along with the other vendor displays, but rather, as one of the commercial nursery displays. Considering the thousands of dollars a number of them invested in this year's themed displays, versus a 2 figure budget the 4 clubs worked under, I would say we did very well indeed!
